After 37 played minutes Impact got a freekick which was hit by Micah Nickerson. The crowd rose to their feet as Edgar Aguilera kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Keneth Dufure. That made the score 1-1 in the 45 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Linwood Travis to make the kick off. Linwood Travis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Pierson having to interfere. Stefan Pierson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Linwood Travis, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute.
