Roland Lizewski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Omer Avila in the 8th minute. Lewis Duran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Griswold fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Griswold's Omer Avila looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alex Cousteau charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 30th minute of the match, Omer Avila got a very nice opportunity to score, but Roland Lizewski was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Maurice Torrez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michel Hatcher went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Omer Avila got free with Roland Lizewski in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex Cousteau to make the kick off. With a little luck, Griswold's Maurice Torrez got control of the ball when Michel Hatcher tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maurice Torrez made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Kirby Carlson sent off a good shot on target. In the 82nd minute Michel Hatcher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurice Torrez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Hatcher got free with Maurice Torrez in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Griswold were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
