After a defensive mix-up in Montreal Barca's zone, Barton Lachapelle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaylord Eason came out of the goal and Barton Lachapelle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 11 minutes, Alton Ewing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AberdeenOilers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alton Ewing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselme Quick kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the game, Augustus Mott was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AberdeenOilers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montreal Barca the free kick. Barton Lachapelle scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaylord Eason, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Richard hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, AberdeenOilers's Deangelo Koehler broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Richard during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Alberto Richard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute of the match Deangelo Koehler sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaylord Eason skillfully saved the ball. When Rhett Marcil fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montreal Barca's protests and gave Rhett Marcil a yellow card for diving instead. Rhett Marcil kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Deangelo Koehler, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Barton Lachapelle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Montreal Barca's Kirby Shoemaker got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adalberto Marion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bennie Gougeon in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, AberdeenOilers's Alton Ewing got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 61 played minutes AberdeenOilers got a freekick which was hit by Parker Lanoie. In the 62nd minute, Fausto Stanford sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and AberdeenOilers's Adalberto Marion didn't even have to move. Barton Lachapelle's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaylord Eason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of AberdeenOilers booed when Montreal Barca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Booker Mainville didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alton Ewing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Gaylord Eason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Richard kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Barton Lachapelle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74thth minute of the game Alton Ewing who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montreal Barca's Gaylord Eason was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Montreal Barca's goal looked a bit too open when Alton Ewing came free, but Gaylord Eason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaylord Eason made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barton Lachapelle in the 79th minute. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Barton Lachapelle put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Gaylord Eason. When Alton Ewing came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the AberdeenOilers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alton Ewing couldn't finish the play. When AberdeenOilers's Alton Ewing in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montreal Barca's goalie prevented a goal. In the 97th minute, Alberto Richard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The AberdeenOilers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AberdeenOilers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
