Hartland's Ermenegilde Charette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilburn Goode in the 12th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Marcelo Teague's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ermenegilde Charette was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. In the 27th minute Lincoln Oakes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermenegilde Charette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ermenegilde Charette prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lincoln Oakes struck a weak shot in the 37th minute.
