Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jules Stringer made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute Ian Cantrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloi McPherson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of MacKay AFC booed when Colonsay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doyle Faucher didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ian Cantrell came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the MacKay AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian Cantrell couldn't finish the play. Through an outstanding action, after 10 minutes, Eloi McPherson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 11 minutes into the match, Ian Cantrell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eloi McPherson. Colonsay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ian Cantrell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Isidro Fitzgerald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Ruth having to interfere. Eloi McPherson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marion Woody in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute Duane Burnham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloi McPherson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Colonsay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doyle Faucher to maneuver through the defense. Eloi McPherson acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 37th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Duane Burnham. After 40 played minutes Colonsay got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Fitzgerald. In the 41st match minute, Colonsay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Rush to maneuver through the defense. Ian Cantrell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marion Woody in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eloi McPherson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 47th minute Ian Cantrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloi McPherson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ian Cantrell made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, MacKay AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marion Woody to maneuver through the defense. Colonsay's Eloi McPherson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Spencer in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute of the match Juan McKinley sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eloi McPherson skillfully saved the ball. Ian Cantrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Eloi McPherson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60thth minute of the game Ian Cantrell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colonsay's Eloi McPherson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Sierra during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Allen Shannon hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Eloi McPherson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Cantrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute of the match Grover Dickson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eloi McPherson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eloi McPherson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The MacKay AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colonsay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
