Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Ottawa Fury FC's Josue Hood in the 3rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Graham Spangler was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for L.A. Galaxy through an amazing save. L.A. Galaxy's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Josue Hood 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Rodolphe Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Lou Miranda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Graham Spangler. That made the score 2-0 in the 10 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ottawa Fury FC's Shirley Vadeboncoeur got a free kick in the 16th minute. Sébastien McCauley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Lunsford in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boniface Doiron in the 19th minute of play forced Ottawa Fury FC's goalkeeper Sébastien McCauley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rodolphe Campos came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Ottawa Fury FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolphe Campos couldn't finish the play. Josue Hood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Graham Spangler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, L.A. Galaxy's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Josue Hood fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Graham Spangler was a little too slow when Josue Hood got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 3-0. After 44 played minutes L.A. Galaxy got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Lunsford. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Boniface Doiron to make the kick off. If Rodolphe Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ottawa Fury FC fully deserved thier win.
