Vauquelin Stadium

Seating: 1932, VIP seats: 168) Vauquelin CN's Fredric Lebel started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edmond Sample fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lou Bergman having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kelly Boggs in the 4th minute of play forced Vauquelin CN's goalkeeper Lou Bergman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Vauquelin CN defense, Edmond Sample kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lou Bergman. The Vauquelin CN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lou Bergman should have stopped the shot. In the 9th minute, Sylvain Patel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Dillon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Laurence Finn put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Lou Bergman. After a rather tough play, SC Dillon's Kelly Boggs got a free kick in the 16th minute. Santos Allison struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Shon Vinson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vauquelin CN. Mack Holley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shon Vinson having to interfere. Shon Vinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fredric Lebel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Dillon's Shon Vinson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredric Lebel in the 28th minute of play. Laurence Finn struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Lou Bergman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Dillon. When Edmond Sample came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the SC Dillon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmond Sample couldn't finish the play. SC Dillon's Laurence Finn got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Vauquelin CN's Fredric Lebel in the 38th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Shon Vinson was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for SC Dillon through an amazing save. Vauquelin CN's Mack Holley got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kelly Boggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lou Bergman having to interfere. The Vauquelin CN players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Dillon were winning 0-3.
Lou Bergman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmond Sample in the 53rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Dillon's Edmond Sample slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lou Bergman. That made the score 0-4 after 57 minutes of play. In the 74th minute, Humberto Faucher reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lou Bergman. The goal made the score 0-5. SC Dillon's Shon Vinson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredric Lebel in the 79th minute of play. Laurence Finn scored 0-6 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lou Bergman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edmond Sample's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lou Bergman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kelly Boggs got free with Lou Bergman in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kelly Boggs received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lou Bergman came out and tried to block the shot, but Kelly Boggs slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 95th minute. The Vauquelin CN fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Dillon were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
