Vauquelin CN's Lou Bergman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clair Hayes in the 5th minute of play. Vauquelin CN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mack Holley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vauquelin CN's Lou Bergman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Vauquelin CN from getting a goal against them. Clair Hayes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute, Damon Vernadeau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Blue Jays SC's Clair Hayes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lou Bergman. That made the score 1-0 after 32 minutes of play. Neil Moquin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lou Bergman having to interfere. Mack Holley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dexter Duke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Blue Jays SC booed when Vauquelin CN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damon Vernadeau didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Clair Hayes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clair Hayes made a kick off. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Blue Jays SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vauquelin CN had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
