Douglas Cortes kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Markham Athletic's zone, Ismael Frey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Arthur came out of the goal and Ismael Frey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Heriberto Echeverri charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heriberto Echeverri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 18 played minutes Markham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Heriberto Echeverri. Alexandre Arthur didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when MC Guard AFC's Gabriel Iancu shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. 22 minutes into the match, MC Guard AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dustin Woodruff came free, but Aubrey Lagueux reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Clinton Steward came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Markham Athletic fans jumped to their feet. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Alexandre Arthur successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Markham Athletic:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of MC Guard AFC:s goal. Markham Athletic:s Alexandre Arthur showed great skill when he stopped Philip Heller:s penalty. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dustin Woodruff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robin Whitehead received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Aubrey Lagueux tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Arthur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Iancu, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Clemente McAllister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Markham Athletic's Cody Palmer got a free kick in the 61st minute. Alexandre Arthur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Desjardins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 played minutes Markham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Kraig Pritchard. Markham Athletic's Alexandre Arthur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Iancu in the 68th minute of play. Cody Palmer's late challenge caught a MC Guard AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cody Palmer helped the player get up and apologised. After 75 played minutes Markham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Cody Palmer. In the 77th match minute, MC Guard AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seth Cotton to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Aubrey Lagueux managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Markham Athletic's Dustin Woodruff fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 81 played minutes MC Guard AFC got a freekick which was hit by Brian Vela. Dominique Arpin kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MC Guard AFC fully deserved thier win.
