To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Alexandre Achin came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Bolton Wanderers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Achin couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Bolton Wanderers's Levi Willett threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mike Carpenter, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Levi Willett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerrell Platt, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After a rather tough play, Bolton Wanderers's Harland McConnell got a free kick in the 89th minute. Shouldice's Denis Caouette got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Levi Willett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexandre Achin went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Mike Carpenter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Levi Willett was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
