The Arruaca fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Arruaca's Tacettin Şahinalp looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Edmonton Saray were furious when Lyman Dean was red carded, 15 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 17th minute there was a penalty for Arruaca. Gregório Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damazy Piszczor in the 39th minute of the match. A collision led to Edmonton Saray getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Wally Lazure hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Meng Zhan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 65th match minute, Arruaca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feng Wei Xu to maneuver through the defense. Meng Zhan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Donatien Braden notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Edmonton Saray's Gregório Castro. Gregório Castro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gregório Castro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tacettin Şahinalp's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. The supporters of Edmonton Saray booed when Arruaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Kincaid didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Kerem Aktürkoglu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
