But to his dismay, Thurman Dowdy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. 28 minutes into the match, Arsenal Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when Thurman Dowdy came free, but Vespasien James reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes, Augustin Malloy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Toronto Bulls and the Arsenal Strikers players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Arsenal Strikers booed when Toronto Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augustin Malloy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Constant Louineaux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Booker Gould, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Arsenal Strikers's Bryan Crisp got a free kick in the 56th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Toronto Bulls's Milford Rosado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vespasien James made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. After 65 minutes, Miguel Flaherty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arsenal Strikers and the Toronto Bulls players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Arsenal Strikers getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Miguel Flaherty hit a great ball. In the 66th match minute, Arsenal Strikers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Flaherty to maneuver through the defense. Domingo Hagan's late challenge caught a Toronto Bulls's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingo Hagan helped the player get up and apologised. Domingo Hagan hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Arsenal Strikers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Flaherty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Toronto Bulls's Tom Coupart was substituted for Jean Lafontaine. Toronto Bulls's Rory Sauriol was substituted for Julius Plante. In the 82nd minute Thurman Dowdy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vespasien James saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vespasien James showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thurman Dowdy, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute.
