The Morrisburg Lions fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Morrisburg Lions's Herbert Rossi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Carmelo Vazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herbert Rossi in the 6th minute of the match. In the 8thth minute of the game Herbert Rossi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Landrienne's Carmelo Vazquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reid Cyr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cruz Lockett having to interfere. When Reid Cyr came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Landrienne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reid Cyr couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the match, Landrienne's goal looked a bit too open when Elwood Sykes came free, but Carmelo Vazquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Morrisburg Lions's Jörn Myhr got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Morrisburg Lions's Patrick Oconnell got a free kick in the 25th minute. Reid Cyr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Buford Latham fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Landrienne's protests and gave Buford Latham a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Jörn Myhr got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Morrisburg Lions's Herbert Rossi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carmelo Vazquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 39th minute, Alphonse Malloy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Géraud Ford scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carmelo Vazquez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Morrisburg Lions were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Carmelo Vazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Géraud Ford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Morrisburg Lions's zone, Edmond Weir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cruz Lockett came out of the goal and Edmond Weir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carmelo Vazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elwood Sykes in the 55th minute of play. Carmelo Vazquez was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Todd Laux capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Todd Laux really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. When Berry Fields came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Morrisburg Lions fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Berry Fields couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Morrisburg Lions's Herbert Rossi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carmelo Vazquez. Carmelo Vazquez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Elwood Sykes kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes in the game, Jörn Myhr fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Carmelo Vazquez having to interfere. Landrienne's Carmelo Vazquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Géraud Ford in the 70th minute of play. Daniel Sherman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carmelo Vazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Géraud Ford in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reid Cyr in the 81st minute of play forced Morrisburg Lions's goalkeeper Cruz Lockett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes Landrienne got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Sherman. Jörn Myhr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Vazquez having to interfere.
