Cruz Lockett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 7 minutes into the match, Règne Rouge's goalkeeper Rocky Latham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herbert Rossi. The supporters of Morrisburg Lions booed when Règne Rouge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vito Stanford didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Règne Rouge's Rocky Latham got control of the ball when Eugenio Croteau tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Herbert Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Morrisburg Lions fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herbert Rossi couldn't finish the play. Rocky Latham was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Rex George capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rex George really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Règne Rouge's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Géraud Ford scored to the left of an out of position Rocky Latham, making the score, 2-1. Règne Rouge's Rocky Latham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Règne Rouge from getting a goal against them. Jörn Myhrs short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Rocky Latham to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Règne Rouge getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Eliseo Addison hit a great ball. Rocky Latham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Géraud Ford in the 41st minute of play. Règne Rouge's Rocky Latham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Rossi in the 45th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guy Sneed stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Règne Rouge's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Rossi came free, but Rocky Latham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herbert Rossi scored 4-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rocky Latham, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 58 minutes into the game, Jörn Myhr cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Rocky Latham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rex George fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rocky Latham having to interfere. Herbert Rossi took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rocky Latham. Rocky Latham dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Rossi in the 67th minute of play forced Règne Rouge's goalkeeper Rocky Latham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rex George had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Règne Rouge's Rocky Latham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berry Fields in the 70th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Règne Rouge's Geoffroi Conn got a free kick in the 76th minute. Constantin Toth hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Géraud Ford in the 81st minute of play forced Règne Rouge's goalkeeper Rocky Latham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 played minutes Règne Rouge got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Addison. In the 86th minute, Rex George got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Morrisburg Lions's Herbert Rossi got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that Morrisburg Lions were the better team. Morrisburg Lions's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
