When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Emory Richmond sped through Claxton's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Napoleon Yost. Emory Richmond might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Napoleon Yost. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emory Richmond ran back to his position shaking his head. Napoleon Yost made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Emory Richmond sent off a good shot on target. In the 13thth minute of the game Emory Richmond who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Claxton's Napoleon Yost was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gregg Hinton kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Emory Richmond's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Napoleon Yost skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Napoleon Yost made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emory Richmond in the 21st minute. Emory Richmond took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Napoleon Yost. Napoleon Yost dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. When Toronto FC's Emory Richmond in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Claxton's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Emory Richmond's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Napoleon Yost was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnulfo Cuevas during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Claxton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnulfo Cuevas to maneuver through the defense. Toronto FC's Emory Richmond got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Emory Richmond put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Napoleon Yost. After a rather tough play, Claxton's Gregg Hinton got a free kick in the 40th minute. Claxton's Napoleon Yost proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Claxton from getting a goal against them. 47 minutes into the game, Jesus Aguilera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toronto FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Claxton the free kick. After a rather tough play, Toronto FC's Jesus Aguilera got a free kick in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Rubin Contreras made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emory Richmond in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Napoleon Yost prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Emory Richmond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Napoleon Yost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emory Richmond, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Napoleon Yost stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emory Richmond's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Emory Richmond recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Emory Richmond put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Napoleon Yost. In the 76th minute, Emory Richmond made a precise shot to the right of Napoleon Yost. Claxton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. If Emory Richmond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Napoleon Yost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emory Richmond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Napoleon Yost came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Toronto FC's Max Darby. But to his dismay, Max Darby quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Claxton's Napoleon Yost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emory Richmond in the 84th minute of play. In the 86thth minute of the game Emory Richmond who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Claxton's Napoleon Yost was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gregg Hinton made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Toronto FC's Steevy Gély. After a defensive mix-up in Claxton's zone, Emory Richmond stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Napoleon Yost came out of the goal and Emory Richmond tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Toronto FC had played much better football throughout.
