Mancity Eagles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emory Richmond was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Emory Richmond ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicolas McMullen made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Emory Richmond sent off a good shot on target. After 21 minutes, Markus Barber mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mancity Eagles and the Toronto FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Toronto FC booed when Mancity Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Markus Barber didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Toronto FC's Emory Richmond ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicolas McMullen. Nicolas McMullen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rubén-Darío Insúa during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rubén-Darío Insúa hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Bryon Russ took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulrich Sampson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ulrich Sampson struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Bryon Russ didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mancity Eagles. Nicolas McMullen was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Emory Richmond capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Emory Richmond really showed his touch with that goal: 8-0. If Max Darby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
