In the 28th minute, Bruce Burch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Angry Smurfs's Joan Jefferson got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After having played for 33 minutes, Mathis Fountain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eastern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathis Fountain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hershel Boudreaux had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Devon Bland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Loup Worthington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathis Fountain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loup Worthington having to interfere. If Emon McCracken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emon McCracken was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Emon McCracken cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Kelvin Keene was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Devon Bland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eastern's supporters rose to their feet, but Devon Bland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Loup Worthington breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mathis Fountain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loup Worthington having to interfere. Devon Bland struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Loup Worthington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eastern. Mathis Fountain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Loup Worthington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Angry Smurfs getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Frederic Daley hit a great ball. Angelo Alvarez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 79th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Eastern's Devon Bland slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Loup Worthington. That made the score 1-2 after 81 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emon McCracken in the 89th minute of play forced Eastern's goalkeeper Kelvin Keene to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathis Fountain got free with Loup Worthington in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 92 minutes, Devon Bland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eastern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Devon Bland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Eastern left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Angry Smurfs.
