Irvin Willoughby had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Carrol Sparks's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a rather tough play, Hurricanes FC's Brock Yarbrough got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 39 played minutes Inter 1908 Milan got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Beckman. Carrol Sparks kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Hurricanes FC defense, Mehmet Emin Yağınalp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Irvin Willoughby. The Hurricanes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Irvin Willoughby should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
