The Avonport fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Avonport's Beau Herrera looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Eastern's zone, Logan Dukes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kelvin Keene came out of the goal and Logan Dukes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 14 minutes, Mathis Fountain mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eastern and the Avonport players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 18 minutes, Logan Dukes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avonport's supporters crossed their fingers, but Logan Dukes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kelvin Keene stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Beau Herrera's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The supporters of Avonport booed when Eastern was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Guillory didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sal Provencher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hershel Boudreaux in the 24th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beau Herrera in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kelvin Keene prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kelvin Keene showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Logan Dukes, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 36th match minute, Avonport was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carroll James to maneuver through the defense. Sal Provencher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Devon Bland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eastern's Kelvin Keene played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beau Herrera in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Eastern's goal looked a bit too open when Beau Herrera came free, but Kelvin Keene reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Devon Bland was the one to do the kick off. Eastern's Herman Atkins got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute Devon Bland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sal Provencher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 58 minutes, Beau Herrera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 69th minute, Herman Atkins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beau Herreras short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Kelvin Keene to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Beau Herrera in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kelvin Keene, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hershel Boudreaux hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 76th match minute, Eastern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Devon Bland to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Eastern booed when Avonport was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalton Byrd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sal Provencher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Devon Bland, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Avonport's Beau Herrera got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Jimmie French took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Kelvin Keene to make any attempt to save it. 94 minutes into the match, Avonport's goal looked a bit too open when Herman Atkins came free, but Sal Provencher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Avonport could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Eastern throughout the match.
