Angel Hankins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Theo Parham read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Angel Hankins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Richmond FC booed when Bergland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacio Gregory didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bo Timmons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Sherman Harrington's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brock Jalbert was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. 19 minutes into the match, Richmond FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sherman Harrington came free, but Brock Jalbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ignacio Gregory kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Richmond FC's Shannon Aragon tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Dorsey Crane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bo Timmons in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brock Jalbert saved Richmond FC from getting behind. Sherman Harrington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Brock Jalbert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Bo Timmons put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Brock Jalbert. The Richmond FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bergland were winning 0-1.

In the 54th minute, Arnoldo Beaujolie sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Richmond FC's Brock Jalbert didn't even have to move. Sherman Harrington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brock Jalbert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sherman Harrington in the 58th minute of play. If Sherman Harrington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stanton Purcell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Theo Parham having to make a save. 71 minutes into the match, Bergland's goal looked a bit too open when Angel Hankins came free, but Theo Parham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, Hubert Routhier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Theo Parham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Sherman Harrington took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Brock Jalbert to make any attempt to save it. In the 89th minute Sherman Harrington shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brock Jalbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Theo Parham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanton Purcell in the 91st minute of the match. Stanton Purcell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bergland had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
