Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lino Mason took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 5 minutes, Sherman Harrington managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bergland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sherman Harrington was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bobby Drake hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. If Bo Timmons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sherman Harrington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Theo Parham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Mason, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Bergland's Arnoldo Beaujolie broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Maynard Boone made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bo Timmons in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Bobby Drake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, Vancouver Whitecaps FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnoldo Beaujolie came free, but Maynard Boone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Vancouver Whitecaps FC's goalkeeper Maynard Boone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bo Timmons. Gerardo Dailey kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Theo Parham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Mason, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 31st minute, Lino Mason ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Theo Parham was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Maynard Boone made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bo Timmons in the 34th minute. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Bo Timmons got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The attack was good, but when Sherman Harrington in the 36th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 39th match minute, Bergland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Dailey to maneuver through the defense. If Sherman Harrington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caleb Quiron hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The supporters of Vancouver Whitecaps FC booed when Bergland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Dailey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ignacio Gregory kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sherman Harrington was the one to do the kick off. Bo Timmons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maynard Boone having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Bobby Drake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maynard Boone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bo Timmons, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Ignacio Gregory blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maynard Boone having to make a save. 63 minutes into the match, Vancouver Whitecaps FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sherman Harrington came free, but Maynard Boone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rocky Ratliff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Theo Parham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sherman Harrington hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Ignacio Gregory struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Maynard Boone didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bergland. If Bo Timmons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theo Parham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Mason in the 84th minute of the match. When André Camacho came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Bergland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Camacho couldn't finish the play. Vancouver Whitecaps FC's Maynard Boone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sherman Harrington in the 89th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bergland's zone, Lino Mason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Theo Parham came out of the goal and Lino Mason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
