In the 17th minute of the match Hipólito Zambujal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Terence Cowan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Napoleon Zdrojewski in the 20th minute of play forced CFR Sibiu's goalkeeper Cristo Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristo Nofre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Diest, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Dănilă in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Terence Cowan saved Crimson Knights from getting behind. Cristo Nofre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Napoleon Zdrojewski in the 25th minute of the match. Napoleon Zdrojewski's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cristo Nofre firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Crimson Knights's goalkeeper Terence Cowan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luca Dănilă scored 0-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Terence Cowan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristo Nofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Diest, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 46 minutes CFR Sibiu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Duane Rose who took care of the corner kick. The audience was convinced that Luca Dănilă's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Terence Cowan was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ben Diest made a kick off. Cristo Nofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Napoleon Zdrojewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Crimson Knights were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after CFR Sibiu's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Duane Rose took the corner. After taking down the ball on Crimson Knights's corner Duane Rose fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cristo Nofre quite easily take care of the ball. In the 62nd minute, Ben Diest left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crimson Knights fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Crimson Knights's Napoleon Zdrojewski got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Crimson Knights's Connie Lyon was substituted for Ben Diest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frankie Carnes in the 74th minute of play forced CFR Sibiu's goalkeeper Cristo Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Crimson Knights getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Duane Rose hit a great ball. Terence Cowan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costel Novăceanu in the 78th minute of the match. After 79 minutes Crimson Knights's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hipólito Zambujal who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Crimson Knights's goalie and right to Costel Novăceanu. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Crimson Knights's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. If Xavies Bedoya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luca Dănilă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Terence Cowan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Terence Cowan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Dănilă in the 89th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Costel Novăceanu took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Terence Cowan to make any attempt to save it. If Connie Lyon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 played minutes CFR Sibiu got a freekick which was hit by Stanimir Rashkov. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Connie Lyon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crimson Knights's supporters rose to their feet, but Connie Lyon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristo Nofre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Crimson Knights supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching CFR Sibiu's performance. The match ended with a win for CFR Sibiu.
