Cristo Nofre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juliusz Szostak in the 7th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Luca Dănilă put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Garrett Gladu. Quincy Cahill in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cristo Nofre, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cristo Nofre came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by C.S.M. Resita's Quincy Cahill. But to his dismay, Quincy Cahill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Garrett Gladu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Dănilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Garrett Gladu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costel Novăceanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chong Lamontagne got free with Cristo Nofre in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, CFR Sibiu's Stewart Copeland got a free kick in the 46th minute. A hard shot by Lorenzo Ott from long distance, 47 minutes into the match, got Cristo Nofre's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 47th match minute, CFR Sibiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rod Tobin to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Donovan Vincent hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Woodrow Rochefort in the 54th minute of play forced CFR Sibiu's goalkeeper Cristo Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, CFR Sibiu's Garrett Gladu threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Costel Novăceanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Garrett Gladu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristo Nofre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quincy Cahill in the 88th minute of the match. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by CFR Sibiu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lorenzo Ott was slow to take the kick. During this time C.S.M. Resita's players had a chance to rest. Resita's goalkeeper Garrett Gladu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xavies Bedoya. Garrett Gladu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Dănilă in the 97th minute of play. The C.S.M. Resita fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CFR Sibiu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
