Gilberto Fremont started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, AFC Richmond's Daniel Borsos got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The supporters of Fenerbahçe S.K. booed when AFC Richmond was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Merchant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Qiao Qi Bo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Kristian Martinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Veto Steller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Kristian Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krystian Żmuda in the 20th minute of play. Hubert Sharp made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Gilberto Fremont sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augustin Magee in the 26th minute of play forced AFC Richmond's goalkeeper Hubert Sharp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to AFC Richmond getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Daniel Borsos hit a great ball. Kristian Martinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Krystian Żmuda in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of AFC Richmond booed when Fenerbahçe S.K. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerry Brunault didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Borsos hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Veto Steller in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristian Martinsson saved Fenerbahçe S.K. from getting behind. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Augustin Magee got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 70th minute, Dewayne Michaud hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hubert Sharp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Fremont in the 72nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe S.K.'s goalkeeper Kristian Martinsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Krystian Żmuda. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Octav Chificeac got a free kick in the 79th minute. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Kristian Martinsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Fenerbahçe S.K. from getting a goal against them. If Krystian Żmuda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Veto Steller struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Kristian Martinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Richmond. Veto Steller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Qiao Qi Bo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hubert Sharp was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 95 minutes into the match, Krystian Żmuda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kristian Martinsson. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Krystian Żmuda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
