Orkatz Abeijon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Vennancio Abaurre had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anacleto Abaunza. Ixiamas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vennancio Abaurre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Bihar Abastas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jordi Abecia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vennancio Abaurre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Anacleto Abaunza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernando Aballe kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Orkatz Abeijon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anacleto Abaunza having to make a save. After 42 played minutes Ixiamas got a freekick which was hit by Florin Abaurre. Anacleto Abaunza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orkatz Abeijon in the 44th minute of play. Vennancio Abaurre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Anacleto Abaunza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vennancio Abaurre to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Vennancio Abaurre fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Vennancio Abaurre kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ixiamas's zone, Orkatz Abeijon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anacleto Abaunza came out of the goal and Orkatz Abeijon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vennancio Abaurre received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anacleto Abaunza came out and tried to block the shot, but Vennancio Abaurre slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 62nd minute. Bihar Abastas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernando Aballe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Osoitz Abascal fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ixiamas's protests and gave Osoitz Abascal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Osoitz Abascal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vennancio Abaurre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anacleto Abaunza having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orkatz Abeijon got free with Anacleto Abaunza in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Orkatz Abeijon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Anacleto Abaunza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vennancio Abaurre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over UNIVERSITARIO could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ixiamas throughout the match.
