The Manchester City fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Manchester City's Txindoki Abeijon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eugenio Megia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Abar in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Txindoki Abeijon made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Opilano Abeijon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaur Abastas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Txindoki Abeijon lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Eugenio Megia. Umallita's Eugenio Megia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Txindoki Abeijon in the 61st minute of play. With an all-out effort, Manchester City's Eugenio Megia threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Txindoki Abeijon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Baiardo Abendano struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Eugenio Megia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City.
