The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abrojal FC's Gilabert Fresno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benino Lombana in the 15th minute of play. Benino Lombana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilabert Fresno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Nuxila Guilizasti received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hugo Ason came out and tried to block the shot, but Nuxila Guilizasti slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Urtun Castropan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Nuxila Guilizasti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Ason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Haritzeder Islañana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cerrezuelo booed when Abrojal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mero Oñate didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Haritzeder Islañana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilabert Fresno was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuxila Guilizasti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gilabert Fresno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Haritzeder Islañana in the 52nd minute. When Nuxila Guilizasti fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abrojal FC's protests and gave Nuxila Guilizasti a yellow card for diving instead. Haritzeder Islañana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Gilabert Fresno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabricio Checa hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 62 minutes in the game, Haritzeder Islañana fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gilabert Fresno having to interfere. Hugo Ason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuxila Guilizasti, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Nuxila Guilizasti struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Hugo Ason didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abrojal FC. Haimar Farias hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Evaristo Monelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Nuxila Guilizasti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abrojal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuxila Guilizasti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Ason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nuxila Guilizasti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabricio Checa hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
