The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Ximeno Moscoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 7 minutes into the game, Maldonado AFC's Ximeno Moscoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hotz Azadon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Angelino Romillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hotz Azadon having to interfere. A collision led to Maldonado AFC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Lorien Oñatibia hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Romillo in the 17th minute of play forced Algorta's goalkeeper Hotz Azadon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, Eneto Presa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ximeno Moscoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hotz Azadon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ximeno Moscoso in the 20th minute of play. Iaki Burset made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Rigues in the 32nd minute of play. Hotz Azadon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelino Romillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelino Romillo kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Gagriel Molfi hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Maldonado AFC's Iaki Burset proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Maldonado AFC from getting a goal against them. Gagriel Molfi hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. When Sergio Alejos fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Algorta's protests and gave Sergio Alejos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Sergio Alejos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
After 56 played minutes Maldonado AFC got a freekick which was hit by Leheren Cerrajeria. After a defensive mix-up in Maldonado AFC's zone, Sergio Alejos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iaki Burset came out of the goal and Sergio Alejos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Angelino Romillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute Sotil Alari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iaki Burset saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Ximeno Moscoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maldonado AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ximeno Moscoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Maldonado AFC booed when Algorta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diagur Reynoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Rigues in the 70th minute of play forced Maldonado AFC's goalkeeper Iaki Burset to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iaki Burset showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sotil Alari in the 80th minute of the match. Hotz Azadon made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Ximeno Moscoso sent off a good shot on target. If Angelino Romillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
