Rufo Cuenia's late challenge caught a Carmen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rufo Cuenia helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Varese's Fernado Poladura got a free kick in the 9th minute. Sotil Voces could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Rogerio Cuervo made a huge save. Muno Forteza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogerio Cuervo having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Carmen's Claudio Udobro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mingo Oliveros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Varese's Mingo Oliveros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bonifacio Santayana in the 40th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudio Udobro in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mingo Oliveros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Muno Forteza to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Carmen getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Arturo Piquero hit a great ball. When Varese's Sotil Voces in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carmen's goalie prevented a goal. In the 55th minute, Bonifacio Santayana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Carmen's Claudio Udobro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mingo Oliveros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Muno Forteza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Rogerio Cuervo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Carmen fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Carmen's Bonifacio Santayana looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Muno Forteza in the 77th minute of play forced Carmen's goalkeeper Rogerio Cuervo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd match minute, Carmen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvarez Nafarrate to maneuver through the defense. Muno Forteza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogerio Cuervo having to interfere. 87 minutes in the game, Bonifacio Santayana fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mingo Oliveros having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Bonifacio Santayana made a precise shot to the right of Mingo Oliveros. Varese's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Udobro in the 92nd minute of play forced Varese's goalkeeper Mingo Oliveros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The long shot by Arturo Piquero in the 95th minute really tested Mingo Oliveros's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Carmen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
