Spectators: 6701 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1701, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Perez Cantalapiedra started the match with the kick off. Lavalleja's Fidensio Zaldivar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panpili Barbas in the 3rd minute of play. After 4 played minutes Lavalleja got a freekick which was hit by Perez Cantalapiedra. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Perez Cantalapiedra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavalleja's supporters rose to their feet, but Perez Cantalapiedra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geronimo Sobre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Larrayos FC's zone, Perez Cantalapiedra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geronimo Sobre came out of the goal and Perez Cantalapiedra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fidensio Zaldivar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ryan Maruca's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Roegelio Figueruel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walme Merida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Geronimo Sobre having to make a save. 26 minutes into the match, Larrayos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Perez Cantalapiedra came free, but Geronimo Sobre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nestor Descapa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ryan Maruca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramos Arzalaga's late challenge caught a Larrayos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramos Arzalaga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, Ramos Arzalaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Maruca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidensio Zaldivar having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ryan Maruca to make the kick off. Lavalleja's Roegelio Figueruel pulled a muscle in his leg after 56 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Angelino Ahedo's late challenge caught a Lavalleja's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angelino Ahedo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lavalleja booed when Larrayos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelino Ahedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nestor Descapa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Walme Merida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flor Rubio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Geronimo Sobre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lavalleja's Fidensio Zaldivar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Lavalleja from getting a goal against them. Walme Merida struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Geronimo Sobre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lavalleja. 69 minutes into the match, Walme Merida notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Larrayos FC's Geronimo Sobre. Geronimo Sobre was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nestor Descapa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidensio Zaldivar having to interfere. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lavalleja's goalkeeper Fidensio Zaldivar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 77th match minute, Larrayos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giro Folgueira to maneuver through the defense. When Perez Cantalapiedra fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lavalleja's protests and gave Perez Cantalapiedra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th match minute, Lavalleja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perez Cantalapiedra to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Larrayos FC's Fidensio Zaldivar threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ryan Maruca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nestor Descapa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Fidensio Zaldivar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 91st minute Ryan Maruca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidensio Zaldivar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Flor Rubio came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Lavalleja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flor Rubio couldn't finish the play. Walme Merida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Larrayos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
