The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ryan Garin during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Latorre booed when Maturrango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Garin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Latorre's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Garin came free, but Isidro Cobredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orain Gobantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Fonso Lasurtigui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orain Gobantes's late challenge caught a Maturrango's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orain Gobantes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Latorre getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Orain Gobantes hit a great ball. Mogel Peñaranda charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mogel Peñaranda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes Latorre got a freekick which was hit by Mogel Peñaranda. If Marcelino Dobale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute Ryan Garin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Cobredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ryan Garin came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Maturrango fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryan Garin couldn't finish the play. Maturrango's Fonso Lasurtigui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orain Gobantes in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the game, Maturrango's Marcelino Dobale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isidro Cobredo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 48th minute, Ryan Garin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maturrango fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Orain Gobantes to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelino Dobale got free with Isidro Cobredo in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute, Hunfredo Padriña got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Frichoso Olalde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orain Gobantes in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fonso Lasurtigui prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcelino Dobale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Cobredo having to interfere. Mel Armendariz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 75th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Marcelino Dobale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Orain Gobantes came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Latorre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orain Gobantes couldn't finish the play. After 90 played minutes Maturrango got a freekick which was hit by Cirilo Figueiras. Marcelino Dobale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Isidro Cobredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelino Dobale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Cobredo having to interfere.
