Edilberto Dorias short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Lain Ocio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Latorre:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Racing:s goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Edilberto Doria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Latorre's supporters rose to their feet, but Edilberto Doria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lain Ocio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mogel Peñaranda hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Beremundo Morelle's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isidro Cobredo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Beremundo Morelle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Cobredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 played minutes, Racing's Gai Melon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Isidro Cobredo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Racing reached it. Beremundo Morelle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Isidro Cobredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Beremundo Morelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidro Cobredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Locaio Freigido, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Enrique Marti kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Racing's Beremundo Morelle suffered a sore thigh after 59 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Natanael Sola's late challenge caught a Racing's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Latorre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orain Gobantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Orain Gobantes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lain Ocio was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Lain Ocio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orain Gobantes in the 82nd minute of the match. Orain Gobantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Locaio Freigido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Isidro Cobredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
