The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Lavalleja AFC's Belasko Remon in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Lavalleja AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 12th minute, Remir Atilano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Todor Olivera was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. A collision led to Buricayupi getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Thomas Gostioz hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Lavalleja AFC's Zuhaitz Cordoba tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Zuhaitz Cordoba fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lavalleja AFC's protests and gave Zuhaitz Cordoba a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Lavalleja AFC's Belasko Remon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leo Bajo. Leo Bajo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Eztebe Somalo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Todor Olivera having to make a save. Leo Bajo was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Belasko Remon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Belasko Remon really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Eztebe Somalo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Todor Olivera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Remir Atilano in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Todor Olivera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Belasko Remon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavalleja AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Belasko Remon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Bajo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 49 minutes, Remir Atilano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buricayupi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remir Atilano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eztebe Somalo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 63rdth minute of the game Teofilio Avina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buricayupi's Leo Bajo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 65th minute Astor Casanova suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Thomas Gostioz got his second yellow card in the match during the 65th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Lavalleja AFC booed when Buricayupi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Gostioz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 71 minutes into the game, when Juan Belarrinaga put in a rough tackle. Leo Bajo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilio Avina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute Teofilio Avina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Bajo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bahiano Laviada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Lavalleja AFC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Ximeno Tendiero hit a great ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
