After 26 played minutes, Cuaro FC's Fernado Davalillo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mino Lordaliego came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cuaro FC reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eudoxio Galnares got free with Mino Lordaliego in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Misael Talavera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Misael Talavera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Mino Lordaliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Quintan Ferreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Misael Talavera was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Cuaro FC booed when Club Atletico Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ihintza Villarinos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eudoxio Galnares took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mino Lordaliego. Mino Lordaliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Misael Talavera might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mino Lordaliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Misael Talavera ran back to his position shaking his head. Jeraldo Fuerte made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Jurgi Salero sent off a good shot on target. Misael Talavera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Eudoxio Galnares came free, but Mino Lordaliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mino Lordaliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
