The Peñarol fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Peñarol's Fidencio Cazares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Xavieon Masbernat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nesto Soraiz having to interfere. If Fidencio Cazares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 24th minute Fidencio Cazares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cuarto Llamazares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cuarto Llamazares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xzaiver Bocanegra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albano Carmona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Peñarol's Fidencio Cazares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cuarto Llamazares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Oto Caseda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Peñarol's Xzaiver Bocanegra got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Gaston Almansa lost his temper 72 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Peñarol fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 71st minute. Penalty! Nesto Soraiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albano Carmona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ovando Izaguirre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cuarto Llamazares having to interfere. Fidencio Cazares succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 85th playminute. After a defensive mix-up in KAISER FC's zone, Ovando Izaguirre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cuarto Llamazares came out of the goal and Ovando Izaguirre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The KAISER FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peñarol were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
