Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) Piedras's Xuaco Piñero started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vejigas's Nicanor Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nicanor Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 12 minutes, Duarte Castañedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piedras and the Vejigas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tiso Balza hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. When Txanton Cendegui came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Vejigas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Txanton Cendegui couldn't finish the play. After having played for 25 minutes, Nicanor Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vejigas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicanor Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Txanton Cendegui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 31 minutes into the game, Bahiano Tortoles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vejigas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piedras the free kick. In the 30th minute, one of Vejigas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vejigas. Chayo Garro went to the wrong direction when Panpili Albar was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Vejigas's Nicanor Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Chayo Garro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbasa Botbol in the 57th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Vejigas's Nicanor Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bakar Olea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Duarte Castañedo hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 62 played minutes, Vejigas's Salbatore Menor shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bakar Olea came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vejigas reached it. Bakar Olea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicanor Sena in the 65th minute. If Txanton Cendegui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicanor Sena succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 75th playminute. In the 82nd minute Urbasa Botbol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chayo Garro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vejigas's Chayo Garro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbasa Botbol in the 84th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Txanton Cendegui in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bakar Olea saved Piedras from getting behind. After having played for 92 minutes, Urbasa Botbol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piedras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Urbasa Botbol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Vejigas walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
