Spectators: 6702 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1702, VIP seats: 0) Humberto Carriedo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Nicasio Picardo came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Machado AFC's Timoteo Cepeda. But to his dismay, Timoteo Cepeda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 13th minute, Timoteo Cepeda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Timoteo Cepeda came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Machado AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timoteo Cepeda couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 22 in the game by Domeka Labandera from a close distance when the talented Florencio Galdamez managed to make a qualified save. Machado AFC's players were relieved. Isaias Chinchilla charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isaias Chinchilla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Machado AFC booed when Merinos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Chinchilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute Timoteo Cepeda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicasio Picardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicasio Picardo came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Machado AFC's Timoteo Cepeda. But to his dismay, Timoteo Cepeda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Machado AFC's Fernanco Sota got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played with Machado AFC's defense Zeru Chaniz in the 34th minute fired away a shot at goal just outside the top left corner. A bit more spin and it would have been a certain goal. If Fernanco Sota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Timoteo Cepeda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Machado AFC's Macario Boreyta got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Timoteo Cepeda to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Merinos's goal looked a bit too open when Timoteo Cepeda came free, but Nicasio Picardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Domeka Labandera made a precise shot to the right of Florencio Galdamez. Machado AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Timoteo Cepeda struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Nicasio Picardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Machado AFC. In the 66th minute, Humberto Carriedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merinos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After having played for 71 minutes, Isaias Chinchilla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merinos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaias Chinchilla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Domeka Labandera charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Domeka Labandera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd minute, Domeka Labandera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicasio Picardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Cepeda in the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Timoteo Cepeda dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nicasio Picardo, 2-3. When Fernanco Sota came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Machado AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernanco Sota couldn't finish the play. Merinos's Nicasio Picardo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Merinos from getting a goal against them. Oswaldo Rieta charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oswaldo Rieta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes Machado AFC got a freekick which was hit by Oswaldo Rieta. In the 99th minute Merinos were awarded a corner. Zeru Chaniz went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Zeru Chaniz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Florencio Galdamez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Machado AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
