Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rexino Yunibarbia took the kick off in the first half of the match. The attack was good, but when Gipuzkoa Rius in the 4th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After 5 played minutes Tacuarembo got a freekick which was hit by Argi Espinoza. 17 minutes into the match, Tacuarembo's goalkeeper Laureano Serans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gipuzkoa Rius. Laureano Serans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gipuzkoa Rius, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Laureano Serans made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Su Sorondo sent off a good shot on target. Laureano Serans came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Salto's Indar Aguinaco. But to his dismay, Indar Aguinaco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Laureano Serans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bazkoare Pardeo in the 27th minute of play. Tacuarembo's Laureano Serans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Tacuarembo from getting a goal against them. When Salto's Gipuzkoa Rius in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tacuarembo's goalie prevented a goal. 36 minutes into the match, Su Sorondo notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Tacuarembo's Laureano Serans. Laureano Serans was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Salto's Bazkoare Pardeo got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Su Sorondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Salto getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Indar Aguinaco hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gipuzkoa Rius was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Tacuarembo getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Onbera Gandara hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the game, one of Tacuarembo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tacuarembo:s Laureano Serans showed great skill when he stopped Gipuzkoa Rius:s penalty. After a rather tough play, Salto's Gilberto Araújo got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Laureano Serans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Uncal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Rexino Yunibarbia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gipuzkoa Rius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tacuarembo's Laureano Serans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gipuzkoa Rius in the 72nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Tacuarembo's goal looked a bit too open when Bazkoare Pardeo came free, but Laureano Serans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Tacuarembo's goal looked a bit too open when Gipuzkoa Rius came free, but Laureano Serans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bazkoare Pardeo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the Salto players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
