The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee ignored Albisu's protests and gave Lopez Mortal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ferreira booed when Albisu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lopez Mortal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferreira's Ricart Zarate got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eriberto Loño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frascuelo Murcia having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Juango Garviras managed to get in a good position for a shot. Albisu's supporters rose to their feet, but Juango Garviras was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albino Erus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Ferreira getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Clementi Orengo hit a great ball. The supporters of Ferreira booed when Albisu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cordarryl Barcelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Medero Laores might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frascuelo Murcia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Medero Laores ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Juango Garviras made the kick off in the second half. Ferreira's Albino Erus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juango Garviras in the 51st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brais Corneja got free with Albino Erus in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 58th minute, Medero Laores ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frascuelo Murcia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With his leg Albino Erus managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Albisu's Brais Corneja fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Eriberto Loño put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Frascuelo Murcia. 77 minutes into the match, Ferreira's goalkeeper Albino Erus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brais Corneja. If Juango Garviras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ferreira getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Jose Coloma hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Medero Laores in the 86th minute of play forced Albisu's goalkeeper Frascuelo Murcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Medero Laores sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ferreira fans cheered their team off the field, for while Albisu had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
