The supporters of Polonio AFC booed when C. A. Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Vallino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leon Vallino struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Loi Maestu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Peñarol. After some careless play in the Polonio AFC defense, Cordaro Meca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Loi Maestu. The Polonio AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Loi Maestu should have stopped the shot. When Hanot Valderramal fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Polonio AFC's protests and gave Hanot Valderramal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, Hanot Valderramal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cordaro Meca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loi Maestu having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Polonio AFC's Stanislao Freije sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rocendo Iturriaga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, C. A. Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Tomi Alvarez came free, but Rocendo Iturriaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stanislao Freije took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rocendo Iturriaga. Rocendo Iturriaga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After having played for 29 minutes, Gartxot Tosantos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Peñarol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gartxot Tosantos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cordaro Meca in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Loi Maestu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Loi Maestu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cordaro Meca in the 34th minute. After 34 played minutes Polonio AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nataniel Ahedo. Rocendo Iturriaga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomi Alvarez went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. C. A. Peñarol's Rocendo Iturriaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanislao Freije in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Nataniel Ahedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Tomi Alvarez made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to C. A. Peñarol getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Gartxot Tosantos hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Peñarol's zone, Tomi Alvarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rocendo Iturriaga came out of the goal and Tomi Alvarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Tomi Alvarez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rocendo Iturriaga. The goal made the score 1-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Tomi Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polonio AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomi Alvarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rocendo Iturriaga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th match minute, C. A. Peñarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eleazar Igual to maneuver through the defense. Polonio AFC's Stanislao Freije got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Tomi Alvarez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cordaro Meca in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Loi Maestu saved Polonio AFC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cordaro Meca in the 79th minute of play forced Polonio AFC's goalkeeper Loi Maestu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes C. A. Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Rudolfo Quevedo. A collision led to Polonio AFC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jesus Hurdinosa hit a great ball. In the 90th minute of the match Cordarrell Rozas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Loi Maestu skillfully saved the ball. Cordaro Meca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Loi Maestu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Polonio AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Vallino came free, but Loi Maestu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
