Tacuarembo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atenas FC the free kick. In the 31st minute, Che Carrandi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xulio Lucio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iparragirre Cadanes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. If Xulio Lucio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mingo Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xulio Lucio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Iparragirre Cadanes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Inguma Aguiriano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bladi Lombera was relentless in the 60th minute of the game.
