The audience thought a goal was coming when Erubiel Bañuelos got free with Maurilio Luzuriaga in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maurilio Luzuriaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Israel Caldeiro in the 26th minute of play. Erubiel Bañuelos in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Maurilio Luzuriaga, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Manga's Erasto Cereceda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Logroño in the 28th minute of play. If Juvenal Logroño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juvenal Logroño blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erasto Cereceda having to make a save. Erasto Cereceda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juvenal Logroño in the 29th minute of the match. If Juvenal Logroño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Ticho Iturbide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erasto Cereceda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juvenal Logroño blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erasto Cereceda having to make a save. Erasto Cereceda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Logroño in the 34th minute of play. Erubiel Bañuelos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maurilio Luzuriaga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Ticho Iturbide ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erasto Cereceda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Israel Caldeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurilio Luzuriaga having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juvenal Logroño was the one to do the kick off. Ticho Iturbide fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasto Cereceda having to interfere. If Charro Zamarripa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erubiel Bañuelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Maurilio Luzuriaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Darwin FC's goalkeeper Maurilio Luzuriaga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 68 minutes, Israel Caldeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Israel Caldeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Vidal Cerdeño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Israel Caldeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurilio Luzuriaga having to interfere. Israel Caldeiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maurilio Luzuriaga having to make a save. Charro Zamarripa's late challenge caught a Darwin FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charro Zamarripa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 82nd match minute, Manga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charro Zamarripa to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Manga's zone, Ticho Iturbide stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erasto Cereceda came out of the goal and Ticho Iturbide tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Darwin FC booed when Manga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Monico Perdomo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Darwin FC's Ticho Iturbide sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erasto Cereceda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Juvenal Logroño got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Manga's zone, Juvenal Logroño stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erasto Cereceda came out of the goal and Juvenal Logroño tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurilio Luzuriaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Israel Caldeiro in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Darwin FC's goalkeeper Maurilio Luzuriaga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Darwin FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
