Gaizkine Secadura scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Urdaspal Tostado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gaizkine Secadura got in the 12th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Urdaspal Tostado handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, Achar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gaizkine Secadura came free, but Urdaspal Tostado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Barcena took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Urdaspal Tostado. Urdaspal Tostado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Paio Alberdi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Everardo Abeijon's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Everardo Abeijon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emiliano Barcena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luix Miar's late challenge caught a Salta AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luix Miar helped the player get up and apologised. Urdaspal Tostado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Barcena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Salta AFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Everardo Abeijon was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Achar FC were awarded a corner. Melchazadec Bringas went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in Achar FC's zone, Quirze Serrano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Urdaspal Tostado came out of the goal and Quirze Serrano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Everardo Abeijon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Paio Alberdi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Everardo Abeijon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paio Alberdi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Urdaspal Tostado made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Emiliano Barcena sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Oso Fragua managed to get in a good position for a shot. Achar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oso Fragua was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paio Alberdi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Salta AFC's zone, Everardo Abeijon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paio Alberdi came out of the goal and Everardo Abeijon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emiliano Barcena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paio Alberdi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oso Fragua, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Amato Pelaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaizkine Secadura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute Oso Fragua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paio Alberdi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Salta AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Oso Fragua came free, but Paio Alberdi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaizkine Secadura in the 92nd minute of play forced Achar FC's goalkeeper Urdaspal Tostado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urdaspal Tostado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaizkine Secadura, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Everardo Abeijon struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Paio Alberdi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Achar FC.
