Curticeras's Garcia Balsera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pasqual Olando in the 20th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pasqual Olando in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Garcia Balsera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manuel Cubillas hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Manchester United's Aureo Peregrin tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Manex Urreche's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geraldo Taracena was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After 32 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Feliz Rusoto. Jose Cobo, 33 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Garcia Balsera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pasqual Olando's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jose Cobo was slow to take the kick. During this time Curticeras's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Damaso Gundin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Geraldo Taracena quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 81st minute Manex Urreche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Taracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
