Leon Ares kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 21st minute of the match Santikurtz Urdiales sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Idacio Cea skillfully saved the ball. When Buinton Sorriba came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Ceibal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Buinton Sorriba couldn't finish the play. Enrico Mattei hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Buinton Sorriba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Idacio Cea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Perico Villabedon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Suarez's Nerio Colmenares got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Camerino Bajuelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Perico Villabedon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Idacio Cea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Camerino Bajuelo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Suarez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ceibal the free kick. Camerino Bajuelo hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Perico Villabedon to make the kick off. Buinton Sorriba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Idacio Cea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Buinton Sorriba might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Idacio Cea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Buinton Sorriba ran back to his position shaking his head. 77 minutes into the game, Santikurtz Urdiales was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nerio Colmenares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mundo Posada having to interfere. Suarez's Camerino Bajuelo got his second yellow card of the match in the 83rd minute. The referee ordered Camerino Bajuelo off the ground. After a defensive mix-up in Suarez's zone, Perico Villabedon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Idacio Cea came out of the goal and Perico Villabedon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Buinton Sorriba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ceibal's supporters rose to their feet, but Buinton Sorriba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Idacio Cea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 98 minutes, Buinton Sorriba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ceibal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Buinton Sorriba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ceibal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
