In the 6th minute, Rodney Carnero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodney Carnero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Tala AFC booed when C.A Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iyan Rocafort didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, Urtungo Yera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A Peñarol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Urtungo Yera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Tala AFC's Espiridion Marimon got control of the ball when Urtungo Yera tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Urtungo Yera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Tala AFC defense, Urtungo Yera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Espiridion Marimon. The Tala AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Espiridion Marimon should have stopped the shot. Osoro Villalpando hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Indar Hernainz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Espiridion Marimon. Tala AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rodney Carnero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 37 played minutes Tala AFC got a freekick which was hit by Raulo Rocandia. Urtungo Yera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iyan Rocafort charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iyan Rocafort the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Iyan Rocafort kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Raulo Rocandia hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Urtungo Yera took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Espiridion Marimon. Espiridion Marimon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Silbestre Elicegui made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urtungo Yera in the 52nd minute of play forced Tala AFC's goalkeeper Espiridion Marimon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urtungo Yera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urtungo Yera in the 58th minute of play forced Tala AFC's goalkeeper Espiridion Marimon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodney Carnero in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Espiridion Marimon saved Tala AFC from getting behind. Rodolfo Grolet took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Espiridion Marimon. Espiridion Marimon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. The supporters of C.A Peñarol booed when Tala AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fanuco Mostoles didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Urtungo Yera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodney Carnero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Espiridion Marimon having to interfere. Hugo Reboiras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Estefan Oteo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rodney Carnero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Rodney Carnero sped through Tala AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Espiridion Marimon. C.A Peñarol's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
