When Mendebal Olabe came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Kiyu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mendebal Olabe couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, C.A.Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Sobron came free, but Medardo Antequera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th match minute, C.A.Peñarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Licerio Becerro to maneuver through the defense. Corderun Alberdi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardo Lanzon having to make a save. Roberto Merida kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Rufo Pipa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kiyu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rufo Pipa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 34 minutes, Poz Trigo made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Kiyu FC's Bernardo Lanzon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute, Mendebal Olabe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mendebal Olabe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Medardo Antequera having to interfere. Kiyu FC's Bernardo Lanzon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Poz Trigo in the 89th minute of play. C.A.Peñarol's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
