Uxio Vial showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Uquillas, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After 8 minutes of play, Maguna's Nelio Belorado made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Franco Urrutia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Felix Uquillas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uxio Vial having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Atletico Melense's Liberto Mirafuentes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Uxio Vial made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. A collision led to Maguna getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Nelio Belorado hit a great ball. Felix Uquillas hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Liberto Mirafuentes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Uxio Vial made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frichoso Zubiaur during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Atletico Melense getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Frichoso Zubiaur hit a great ball. After 25 minutes of play, Maguna's Pagomari Prego made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Franco Urrutia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Maguna's Uxio Vial proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Maguna from getting a goal against them. 31 minutes into the match, Atletico Melense's goal looked a bit too open when Nelio Belorado came free, but Franco Urrutia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Frichoso Zubiaur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 45th play minutes Liberto Mirafuentes shot 3-2, a short shot which went by Uxio Vial and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in Maguna's zone, Felix Uquillas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Uxio Vial came out of the goal and Felix Uquillas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The wind increased when Pagomari Prego made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Uquillas in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uxio Vial saved Maguna from getting behind. When Felix Uquillas came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Atletico Melense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Uquillas couldn't finish the play. Felix Uquillas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Uxio Vial tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Uquillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 68thth minute of the game Liberto Mirafuentes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maguna's Uxio Vial was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Felix Uquillas came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Atletico Melense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Uquillas couldn't finish the play. Nelio Belorado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Franco Urrutia made a huge save. Pagomari Prego sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Uquillas in the 85th minute of play forced Maguna's goalkeeper Uxio Vial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Felix Uquillas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Liberto Mirafuentes in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uxio Vial prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Atletico Melense's Felix Uquillas in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maguna's goalie prevented a goal. Uxio Vial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Uquillas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Atletico Melense had played much better football throughout.
