Montevideo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Union the free kick. In the 10th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romulo Palianza to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakue Casas in the 13th minute of play forced Union's goalkeeper Froila Galaviz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Jakue Casas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jakue Casas in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Froila Galaviz saved Union from getting behind. In the 25th minute, Ikatz Tarsa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albano Bustillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicemte Aedo having to interfere. If Albano Bustillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romulo Palianza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Froila Galaviz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute of the match, Jakue Casas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Froila Galaviz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Union's Froila Galaviz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakue Casas in the 43rd minute of play. If Arlo Luaces had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

62 minutes into the game, Albano Bustillo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vicemte Aedo. Albano Bustillo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Arlo Luaces could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Vicemte Aedo made a huge save. After having played for 71 minutes, Jakue Casas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montevideo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakue Casas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jakue Casas to maneuver through the defense. Vicemte Aedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albano Bustillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Albino Vallejo kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Union's Karlo Cifontes got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After having played for 83 minutes, Jakue Casas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montevideo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakue Casas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Froila Galaviz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Palianza in the 94th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
