Spectators: 6691 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1691, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Evaristo Guasch started the match with the kick off. Santiago FC's Duardo Marroquin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Guasch in the 4th minute of play. Evaristo Guasch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manni Veidazar got free with Lazaro Barrachina in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Gilesindo Baragaño's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lazaro Barrachina was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Xantalen Eliseo charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xantalen Eliseo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Santiago FC booed when C.A. RIVER PLATE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xantalen Eliseo didn't get a good kick on the ball. C.A. RIVER PLATE's Lazaro Barrachina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilesindo Baragaño in the 19th minute of play. If Evaristo Guasch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 21 played minutes Santiago FC got a freekick which was hit by Umbruso Escalera. In the 26thth minute of the game Evaristo Guasch who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santiago FC's Duardo Marroquin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Vennancio Villate fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. RIVER PLATE's protests and gave Vennancio Villate a yellow card for diving instead. Vennancio Villate hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute of the match Iaki Valea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lazaro Barrachina showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 35 played minutes C.A. RIVER PLATE got a freekick which was hit by Vennancio Villate. After 36 played minutes, Santiago FC's Iaki Valea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lazaro Barrachina came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santiago FC reached it. Santiago FC's Duardo Marroquin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Guasch in the 38th minute of play. Xantalen Eliseo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blanco Arcos kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Manilan Nobajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duardo Marroquin having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Evaristo Guasch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilesindo Baragaño made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as C.A. RIVER PLATE's Evaristo Guasch slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Duardo Marroquin. That made the score 0-1 after 52 minutes of play. 55 minutes into the game, Jorrin Muños was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A. RIVER PLATE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santiago FC the free kick. After some careless play in the C.A. RIVER PLATE defense, Manni Veidazar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lazaro Barrachina. The C.A. RIVER PLATE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lazaro Barrachina should have stopped the shot. After 63 minutes, Umbruso Escalera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santiago FC and the C.A. RIVER PLATE players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Umbruso Escalera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, C.A. RIVER PLATE's Jorrin Muños got a free kick in the 65th minute. After 67 minutes of play C.A. RIVER PLATE's Xantalen Eliseo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Lazaro Barrachina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manni Veidazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After 85 played minutes C.A. RIVER PLATE got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Becerril. Duardo Marroquin made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Evaristo Guasch sent off a good shot on target. Manilan Nobajas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C.A. RIVER PLATE were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
